JOB OPPORTUNITY - Materials Director

QUALIFICATION:

• Prospective candidates for the Materials Director position will have a minimum of 10 years of experience, including at least 10 years of Plant and Materials and Logistics management and leadership experience

• The ideal candidate will have acquired his/her experience in the industrial manufacturing sector, including time spent working for an automotive company known for innovation and a commitment to best practices

• Most importantly, candidates must be exceptionally well-skilled in the development and management of the manufacturing function in a fast-paced, results-oriented, growth company

THE POSITION:

• The Materials Director will manage the entire plant supply chain process for truck and engines, including but not limited to international, local parts, traffic logistics and the relationship of DAF Caminhões suppliers, to ensure on time parts delivery

MAIN DUTIES:

• Recruit and develop Materials and Logistics team

• Support and lead initiates aligned with PACCAR culture, to maintain team morale and people retention

• Manage supplier parts forecast and ordering processes, through diligent performance indicators management

• Plan and control parts and ready trucks inventory

• Efficient parts receiving, line feeding and processes management

• Manage the production sequencing process for trucks and engines

• Ensure parts planning in accordance to truck, engines production and for new products

• Develop and manage plans to meet the business overall strategy

• Drive materials and logistics processes for continuous improvement, including development and implementation of most current methods

• Develop strategies to support and manage all carrier contracts

• Facilitate consistency across the DAF CAMINHÕES Transport System

• Manage and train carriers in their functions to support the Transport System

• Determine the ideal material flow using lean principles that maintain production requirements

• Identify required material flow plans, including configuration and packaging design, batch size, frequency of delivery and material handling requirements (plan for every part)

• Manage outsourced parts storage, consolidation, sequencing to meet the production plan, including but not limited to MSS

• Maintain accurate stock / inventory records at an appropriate level of detail

• Promote the use of the process approach and risk management
